Mothers Union Cream Tea - 2018 (13 photos)
The annual Cream Teas were held in the garden of 120, Wolverton Road on Sunday, 22nd July. The weather was beautiful and, for once, there were no worries that it would rain. Nearly 100 people sat in the garden under umbrellas or in the shade of the trees. Apart from raising money, it was a very sociable occasion where people relaxed and chatted to friends old and new whilst enjoying scones, cream and jam. A massive £451 was raised and this will go to Mothers’ Union projects both overseas and locally, for example, the Away From it All scheme whereby families who have undergone difficulties are given help to have a well earned holiday. The Emergency Relief Fund is available when there are disasters overseas and instant help is required so the proceeds will be divided to assist in these and other projects.
