Stewardship of our time and talents

Christian stewardship is not only about money. It’s a way of life in which we regard ourselves and our possessions as a trust from God to be used in his service, for what he has done for us in Jesus Christ. We are all stewards of the skills, gifts and resources which he has given to each one of us and our Christian responsibility is to discover how best to use these according to his purpose.

We are fortunate in our churches to have teams of volunteers who regularly help with a variety of duties within the churches and in the community but all of them would welcome new helpers. You’ll find some information about some of these roles in the ‘Get involved’ section of this website. Other duties include serving coffee before or after services or at events, helping with transport to church, reading or leading intercessions to name but a few. If you think you might be able to offer your time and talents to the church in any way (however small), do please get in touch with us. Contact us’

Stewardship of our financial resources

Regular planned giving through our Stewardship scheme enables the church to carry out its mission and ministry in our parish and it also makes it possible for us to contribute to needy causes both locally and further afield. For 2018 our charities are:

  • Melanesia Mission
  • MK Night Shelter
  • Bridgebuilder Trust - Christian training in schools
  • Mead Centre
  • Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia
  • Newport Pagnell Christmas Lights

Our Stewardship Scheme covers both taxpayers and non-taxpayers and is very important for three reasons:

·     Pledges allow the church to budget its monthly income enabling us to plan our expenditure and plan for the future.

·     It is the main source of income for the church.

·     If you are a tax payer and ‘gift aid’ your donations we can claim back 25p for every £1 you give us.

We are very grateful to everybody who contributes under this Stewardship Scheme which is a valuable resource for the life and work of our church. If you are not yet a member of the Stewardship Scheme and are interested in joining, please pick up a brochure from the back of one of the churches.
